Accepting the Ups and Downs

After falling way down into that painful pit, I crawled back out and had a wonderful 4-day good streak (YAY!)  The good streak ended, like they always do, but I enjoyed being pain-free while it lasted.

I guess this is where that acceptance thing comes in handy.  It’s so dang hard to learn.  I have to keep re-visiting the topic.  I have this roller-coaster life, and I don’t know if I will ever “get used to it” necessarily, but I can try to accept it a little more.  I mentally battle with this migraine beast every week instead of treating it like a familiar thing. Always a work in progress, friends!

I’ve been reading “How To Be Sick” (which came highly recommended!) and that has been helping me learn some new strategies.  SO GOOD!!

Thankful to be alive, even though this existence can be a painful one.

  1. “How to Be Sick” is a great book. So is “How to Live Well”. It was written after she has been sick for some time so it has a little bit of a different spin. I like it a lot. I’ve been referring to it a lot recently.
Revisiting that thing called acceptance is hard. But something I must do over and over too.
We feel better then we lose again. We suffer loss over and over.
    it is a roller-coaster life.

I’m so happy you had a few good days.
