What song gives you hope to hold, despite your migraines and how?
Ooh, I love this writing prompt today! Music is a HUGE part of what keeps me going–in general–in life. Any time I find a song with lyrics that I can relate to, I feel less alone in this world. I couldn’t pick just one song, so here is my list of 3!
My #1 choice right now would be Paramore’s song called “Now.”
These lyrics are perfect for when it comes to singing about fighting (migraine) battles.
“Lost the battle, win the war
Bringing my sinking ship back to the shore
Starting over, we’ll head back in
There’s a time and a place to die but this ain’t it”
#2. City and Colour’s “Sleeping Sickness” is another one I listen to (and sing) a lot! Love these lyrics:
“And like the sea
I’m constantly changing from calm to ill”
This live performance sounds just as good (or even better!) than the recorded version.
“Am I the only one I know,
Waging my wars behind my face and above my throat?
Shadows will scream that I’m alone,
But I know we’ve made it this far, kid.”
